Because of good relationship we have with them, they are rather advertising our products daily on the market and bringing new customers for us to do business with them.
Our priority is ’’making our customers smile all the time’’ and make sure to live by it.
No wonder on the 19th April we had a letter from one of our customers called Dominic to play a football match with his staffs to mark the GOOD EASTER FRIADY public holiday of Ghana.
Could you imagine there was huge amount of money at stake donated by the customer willingly for free. Appearance fee 10% for each team, the winner takes 50% and the loser takes 30% but unfortunately for them they could not win the match.
This is how the football match took off at Okwawu Park, Darkuman a suburb of Accra, Ghana at 9:00 am on Friday 21st March, 2008.
Our eighteen men contingent with the coach and supporting fans stormed the venue with strong determination to take whatever is at stake and we were welcomed by the soccer loving fans at the park. The park was full up the capacity and a lot of singing, drumming and fun making were immeasurable.
Our game plan was 4-4-2 while Dominic Staffs were playing 3-4-3.
The first fifteen minutes was an equal game but the second fifteen minutes we took over and displayed a lot of skills, we had three glorious chances to score but we could not convert them.
Richard Ocansey of warehouse Dept. had a gentle pass from Eric Martey of Sales Dept. and beat one, two, three people at the spot and sent a long pass to Francis Mensah of Warehouse Dept. but he was not fast enough to connect the ball into the net.
On the 21st minutes of the 1st half Dominic’s Staffs also got a brilliant chance but it hit the cross bar and it came back again to them but Ebenezer Afari of Sales Dept.quickly balloon the ball from the danger zone of Sunda. The game became tough but Sunda continued to mount pressure on the Dominic’s Staffs till the 30th minutes and lots of changes were made by the coach Edward Mensah to strengthen the game.
Dominic’s Staff took over from 30th to 45th minutes and they dominated the game totally but Sunda’s defensive net-work was very effective to the extend that Dominic’s Staff could not penetrate.Dominic’s staff had a glorious opportunity inside the Sunda’s penalty box but Robert Adjei of Sales Dept quickly came in to kicked the ball out from the zone for a corner kick in favour of Dominic’s Staff but Sunda’s goalkeeper was fantastic to safe all the high-ranged shots from the opponent. At the close of first 45 minutes the score line was goalless.
The players resumed from recess and at this time both team make substitution to strengthen the game but none of them was able to win the match.
In the 2nd half of the game there we witnessed fantastic soccer, a lot of skills were displayed but both teams were lack of stamina and concentration due to lack of training but on the 65th minutes Eben Afari came closer on two occasions to bury the opponent but he wasted all those efforts. On another occasion Richard Addo of warehouse shoot a long range shot but the goalkeeper Akka of Dominic’s Staff was in good position to safe the ball from disaster.
During all these times lots of supporters of both sides and football loving fans were there supporting with praises, shouting, drumming, whistling and giving encouraging words to the various teams.
On the 70th minutes Isaac Amoah of warehouse collected the ball and beaten two men and gave a good pass to Eric Martey and he sent a long pass to Robert Adjei and Robert chest out the ball and bring it into control, beat one, two, three men and send it to eighteen yard of Dominic’s Staffs but the referee whistled for an off-side against Isaac Ameka of warehouse in favour of Dominic’s Staffs and a free kick was infected but Sunda Staffs took the ball and break away from them but Dominic’s Staffs counter-attached it and weather the storm.
They played 90 full minutes with four minutes added time but at the end of the match the score line was Sunda 0-0 Dominic’s Staffs so extra twenty minutes time were played but no results came out, the score line was still the same 0-0.
Then came out the penalty shoot out and Sunda Ghana won the match on 5-4 aggregate and lifted the money at stake. Both teams went out to a nearby restaurant and chilled there until the money got finished.
At the end of the match Eric Martey of Sales Dept of Sunda was voted as a best player of the match.
